Yamaha’s Rhino is the best-selling and most off-road capable vehicle in its class. While Yamaha did not start the Side-by-Side category (also known as SxS, Utility Vehicle, UTV, Recreational Off-Road Vehicle, ROV), the Rhino’s popularity has helped drive the rapid growth of the SxS segment since the Rhino 660 was introduced in 2003. Many other motorsports and utility equipment manufacturers have since followed with a SxS model to compete with the Rhino.

Yamaha’s Rhino SxS vehicles are popular among recreational riders, hunters and fishermen, used on farms and ranches, by the U.S. military, and are critical to first responders across the country. It is this popularity and versatility that has earned the Rhino many various industry awards.

Unfortunately, this popularity has also gained the attention of profit seeking plaintiff attorneys who have recently been disseminating inaccurate information and aggressively attacking the Rhino.

This Press Room contains information on each of the current and previous Rhino models as well as frequently asked questions and other Yamaha and Rhino news. We have also included some examples of inaccurate, misleading, and sometimes outrageous claims by plaintiff attorneys. These have led to some inaccurate news stories. The information is this Press Room is designed to give you the factual information needed for your stories.

Yamaha stands firmly behind the Rhino as a safe and reliable off-road vehicle. As a matter of fact, and contrary to erroneous press releases issued by plaintiff attorneys and inaccurate news articles, more than 99 percent of Rhino customers are operating their vehicles without any reported incidents.
